Dick DoddsMember Profile
Dick Dodds, Vice President
Dick has been interested in photography for about 50 years, but more actively in the last 35 years.

He currently uses a Nikon D2XS and likes it because it is a gadgeteer's dream. He particularly likes the flash capabilities of the system.

His favorite subject is landscape photography but is subject to change with his mood.  Anything interesting is game. As for who has influenced his photography the most he can't single out one person from the host of those who’ve inspired him.

He's been employed as a gourd rattler (Doctor) for the last 36 years.

His advice to beginners:
1.  Support the camera.  Still Photography means the camera is still.

2.  Be there with the camera.  Don't be like Tom and me and gawk at  a fully spread eagle eight feet away while our cameras were in the  trunk of the car!

His favorite quote:  "F8 and be there"  (Lowell Mendyk)

Multnomah Falls
by Dick Dodds

Multnomah Falls in Multnomah County of which the seat is Portland, Oregon.

I was determined to get the entire height of the falls (622 feet) but in order to do that I had to take the picture with the camera rotated to a diagonal-I only had 100 degrees field of view.

Still, I like this image better than most published pictures.  Kodak (USA) film, 18mm Samyang lens, Nikon F3, f16, 1sec exposure, summer 1999.
